Healing is not about fixing you.
It’s about remembering who you are.
Having started my journey as a therapist during the peak of the pandemic, I was put into the unfortunate/fortunate position of helping people navigate their grief and trauma while also dealing with my own. Talk about being thrown to the wolves! Fortunately though, it shined a light on how deeply systemic issues can impact our individual experiences. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals impacted by trauma, grief, and systemic issues.
My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has their own unique way of healing and growing. Every individual has their own truths and experiences that shape their journey, it isn't my job to impose a one-size-fits-all solution. Finding the right path for each person is my primary focus.
I'm experienced in working with individuals who come from diverse backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural contexts. I'm committed to providing culturally sensitive and inclusive care. All are welcome in my practice and I strive to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
I'm also deeply committed to social justice and believe that healing must be approached with a critical awareness of the systems (of oppression) that shape our lives.
I hold a Master's degree in social work and am licensed as a social worker in the state of Texas, supervised by Esperanza Garibay, LCSW-S. My training includes intensive work in:
- Parts work
- Somatic Work
- Attachment-focused psychotherapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
As a gender queer individual (they/them) and the child of a single Black mom, I bring a unique perspective to systemic, familial, and cultural issues. Outside of my practice you can find me typing up my thoughts and experiences, some you will find on this site.
